UBC Groups
Life is Better Together
At UBC, we love Sunday mornings! We love gathering together as the church to worship God, learn from His word and share life with one another. But we also understand that with so many people, it can be difficult to experience true community. In a church of 200+, it is easy to feel lost in the crowd. That’s why we have groups. Groups create an intimate environment where you can get to know people, and people can get to know you. Where faith is stirred, assumptions are challenged and needs are met. A place where friends become family as we learn and grow together.
At UBC we have three different types of groups to choose from. Growth Groups , Life Groups and Affinity Groups.
Growth Groups
A growth group is a group of Christians who are committed to regular get-togethers for the sake of learning and growing closer to God. Usually, these groups revolve around a specific topic of study or interest. Growth groups meet for a defined amount of time and then disband. However, some growth groups decide to continue on together and form Life Groups.

UBC Life Groups:
At UBC, there are two ways to join a Life Group. You can join an already existing Life Group or you can join a Launch Group. A Launch group is a sermon series small group which meets together for a defined amount of time and then are given the option of either disbanding, or remaining together and forming a New Life Group. If you would like to join an already existing Life Group, you will be sent a list of Life Groups that are currently open to new members to choose from.
Become a Launch Group Host:
As a launch group host, you will be asked to open your home (or another hospitable space) and foster an environment of fellowship as you love those that God has placed in your group. You don’t need to have all the answers, only a willingness to serve and love. To begin as launch group Host, you will be required to attend one training session which will equip you with resources to be successful and a time to ask any questions you may have.

What is an Affinity Group?
Affinity Groups range on a spectrum in terms of purpose, but the makeup of the group are those who share some common element. And as groups celebrate what they have in common, group members find support and encouragement for unified struggles that are common within the group. All affinity groups are open groups. And, of course, you are more than welcome to begin a new affinity group.
