Volunteer With Us

Volunteers are the heartbeat of Uxbridge Baptist Church—whether it’s helping greeting newcomers before service, teaching in our Sunday School, serving coffee at an event, or in any other of the numerous opportunities to serve. God has given all of us unique gifts and talents and it is with those gifts that we have the opportunity to follow Christ’s example to serve one another and help build His Kingdom. If you are new to UBC, or have been attending for years, we would love for you to join one of our volunteer teams! Whether out in front greeting or behind the scenes setting the environments, there is a place for you. If this is your first time serving at UBC, the welcome team is a great place to start, as we roll out the red carpet for our guests each and every weekend.

We have a number of prayer teams at UBC which meet throughout the week to meet, either online or in our prayer room. In John 16, Jesus says, “Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. (John 16:23b-24) Therefore, at UBC, prayer is our starting point, and central to everything we do. Currently our prayer teams meet Monday at 7:30 am, Tuesday at 7:30 am, Wednesday at 7:00 pm, Thursday at 8:30 pm & Sunday at 8:30 am.

One of our goals on Sunday morning is that everyone feels welcome and comfortable – and our hospitality team plays a key part in creating a welcoming and comfortable environment. For the most part, this includes setting up the hospitality desk with coffee and tea – and participating in fellowship after the service.

If you love God, and are skilled in a musical instrument or singing – UBC’s worship team is a great place to serve. This ministry combines a desire to praise Jesus with a heart for leading people into the corporate presence of God as we embrace the power of the Holy Spirit each Sunday morning. Worship teams practise Thursday evenings and before the service each Sunday.

The AV team looks after our tech needs on a Sunday Morning, specifically our livestream, sound and propresenter slides. This is a great place to serve if you enjoy behind the scenes work, while still seeking avenues to be creative and musical. Our AV team supports our worship team and meets with worship practices (Thursday evening and before the service Sunday)

Quest is our middle school group (Grade 6-8) and our Quest team are those who are passionate about middle school students and inspiring them to follow Jesus. This ministry exists to walk alongside teens as they develop their own authentic faith and equip them to share the Gospel in their communities. Quest meets on alternating  Thursdays and Sundays (during the Sunday Service).

Youth is our high school group (Grade 9-12) and our Youth team are those who are passionate about high school students and inspiring them to follow Jesus. This ministry exists to walk alongside teens as they develop their own authentic faith and equip them to share the Gospel in their communities. Youth meets on Friday nights.

Be a part of encouraging the next generation by engaging kids with the Gospel to help them build their faith. Work with children through Bible stories, songs and group activities. We have opportunities to serve either on Sunday morning, Wednesday evenings or helping out with camps during the summer.

Do you love baby high fives? Then serving in the Nursery on Sunday morning might be the perfect place for you. Our nursery allows parents to attend and participate in the Sunday Service while you create a safe and fun environment for children from 0 to 3 years old. We also have preschool praise, which is an intentional time of singing and Bible stories for 2 & 3 year olds.
