WORSHIPING TOGETHER – Sunday July 19, 2020

We pray that you were encouraged by the Vimeo Worship and, as we were, by the participation of so many young persons, we thank them and all those who participated in creating this week’s service. We are so grateful for your contributions. We also pray that you were encouraged by Pastor Kathy’s message, I Am Yours (Made Alive in Christ) and the testimonies from Todd and Brooke.

As you continue to worship together in your online and household groups, we offer the following as a guide:

Opening Prayer: (Read by a Single Voice)

Almighty God, thank you for your son. You have given no other name under Heaven by which we must be saved. Thank you for your Word and for all those who have shown us the Way, the Truth, and the Life. We are eternally grateful. We pray for those that do not know Him and You. Help us to see and take the opportunities to introduce people to you, that together we can grow your Kingdom. Thank you for your Spirit, our helper in your mission. We pray today for the next generation, that they would come to you with eager expectation. Amen.

Reading Scripture: (Take Turns Reading)

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:8-10 (NLT)

1 As God’s partners, we beg you not to accept this marvelous gift of God’s kindness and then ignore it. For God says,

“At just the right time, I heard you.
On the day of salvation, I helped you.”

Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:1-2 (NLT)

29 The jailer called for lights and ran to the dungeon and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.” 32 And they shared the word of the Lord with him and with all who lived in his household. 33 Even at that hour of the night, the jailer cared for them and washed their wounds. Then he and everyone in his household were immediately baptized. 34 He brought them into his house and set a meal before them, and he and his entire household rejoiced because they all believed in God. Acts 16:29-34 (NLT)

Checking In:

  • If you were asked to share with someone your salvation moment in one minute or less, what would you say?
  • Ephesians 2:8-10 reminds us that we are His masterpiece, saved by grace, made new, and he has a plan for us to do good. How does this scripture encourage and inspire you to reach out to the next generation?

Close in prayer for one another and then with these words: (Read by a Single Voice)

16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, 17 comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say.  2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 (NLT). Amen.
