WORSHIPING TOGETHER – Sunday May 24, 2020

We pray that you were encouraged by the Vimeo Worship and Pastor Dale’s message from Psalms 86:11, An Undivided Heart, the first in the new series Undivided.

As you continue to worship together in your online and household groups, we offer the following as a guide:

Opening Prayer: (Read by a Single Voice)

Sovereign Lord, you are King, and we glorify you. We thank you for your provision and protection. We humbly come before you and admit that in these unusual times, there is much to distract us from you. Our screens, the news, the world changing around us. We desire to have an undivided heart. We desire to put you first. Help us to always seek you first. And in finding you, we pray for the opportunities to share you with others. We pray for those whose thirsts cannot be quenched because they do not know you. We pray for those who are hurting, who are fearful, who are confused, and who are angry. We pray that they would seek you and know you as we do and in you find comfort, peace, hope, and love. We pray today in the matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Saviour. Amen.

Reading Scripture: (Take Turns Reading)

1 As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, my God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
Psalms 42:1-2 (NIV)

44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
Matthew 13:44-46 (NIV)

1 You, God, are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you,
my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land
where there is no water.
2 I have seen you in the sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory.
3 Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.
Psalms 63:1-3 (NIV)

Checking In:

  • What does it mean for me to worship God with my whole heart?
  • How have you seen God at work during these unprecedented times?

Close in prayer for one another and then with these words: (Read by a Single Voice)

16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

(Colossians 3:16-17 NIV)
