1. THE DEATH OF ABRAHAM:

⁷ Abraham lived a hundred and seventy-five years. ⁸ Then Abraham breathed his last and died at a good old age, an old man and full of years; and he was gathered to his people. ⁹ His sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah near Mamre, in the field of Ephron son of Zohar the Hittite, ¹⁰ the field Abraham had bought from the Hittites. 2. THE HERITAGE OF ABRAHAM:

Historically…

Biblically…

• Covenant fulfilment
• Jesus as the promised seed
• Abraham foresaw Christ and rejoiced
• Abraham is still living in some sense
• Abraham’s faith was accomplished by instant and complete obedience

3. THE CHILDREN OF ABRAHAM:

⁶ So also Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”
⁷ Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham. ⁸ Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” ⁹ So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. How can we become the children of Abraham?

• Not by biological descent.
• Not by religious ritual.
• But by sharing the same faith

• The Gift of Justification
• The Gift of the Spirit
